You can show visitors of your profile show many days are left to your birthday. There are even more fun features like, keeping a calendar with the birthdays of your friends, displaying more info about yourself like your ICQ number, or you mobile phone number. You can register to this counter at the following web site: http://www.birthdaycounter.com.
Select at this site: Yes, i want a banner" and you have to fill in your info and adjust the style and color of the counter. When you are finished, a code will be generated to add the counter to your profile and the same code will be send by email. Use only the code between:
<!-- start of Jippy.com
code --> and <!-- end of Jippy.com code -->
in your profile. Do not include the code displayed above. These will not work in your profile.
The send mail will also contain your log in information, to change the settings of the counter afterwards. Just look around there t osee all that is possible.
This counter will display the amount of days / hours / minutes and seconds to go until the date you set. This can be any date. You don't have to register this counter, it will work by itself. To make is easy for you, we made a script to fill in all required data and the style you like. The code will be generated and copied after you clicked on the button and you can paste it into your profile. An preview will be displayed by the program...
You can activate or de-activate the background and border by selecting the corresponding selection boxes and select any color at 'Background color' and 'Border color'. Choose a color from the list or will in the color code yourself. Click << here >> to display all color codes.
A very simple counter that just will do the job. And the best of it... it's FREE!!!
Gues what. The only feature is count, count and again count and without difficult settings. Go to the web page of Right Stats to get this counter or click at the "Sign-up now" button below here for immediate Sign-up:
The Sign-up page will appear and the first thing you have to do is to pick your favorite counter by clicking at the small circle (radio button) at the top of the counter you like. See examples of all counters below:
After choosing the counter you like, you have to fill-in three fields:
Click at the Submit button, to activate your counter. You will be directed to a page with your counter id and the code needed for your profile. At the same time this information will be send to your E-mail address.
Now you have the code needed for your profile or website. The code will look like the example below:
(Found by MoRdiCuS and Kevin15)
Bravenet has changed the code for their counter and is now using JavaScript. This can't be used for your profile anymore because it is not allowed to use JavaScript at your profile. You can still use it when you are using an external webpage for your profile (only for the very experienced profile builders), but you have to change the code before it will work again. When you see the sign below you have to adjust your code or choose a new counter for your profile.
Go to the website of Bravenet: http://www.bravenet.com to apply a counter. Fill in you E-mail address and click at 'Join'. You will receive an E-mail with the internet address to activate the counter. Activate the counter by clicking 'Hit Counter en Site Stats'. You have to fill in more info about you. After that, a code is displayed, which you can copy and then paste into your profile.
With Bravenet you have access to some other features like a poll and web space to design your own website.
Within a few days a more detailed explanation about how to configure this counter exactly. This because Beseen cancelled their counter services and the counter of Bravenet is the only one which is easy available for your profile.
Your profile combined with a guestbook...even that is possible!! First thing you need to know is the id-number of your profile. When you apply for a guestbook, they will ask you to provide the address of your web site. When you don't have a website you can provide the the address of your profile (actually it is a mini web site). Using your profile address will do, we tried it for you. To determine the address of your profile do the following:
When you are logged on to the chatroom, use search user to find your own chat name. When you found it, right click on your name and choose properties from the menu. At the window that is displayed, you will see your profile address (a very long one actually). Select this address by dragging the mouse over it and copy it (or write it on paper). It will probably like somewhat like this:
http://www.chatpoint.com/chat/profile/show.asp?id=41889&pos=0
(you can leave &pos=0)
But to make it even easier. Just use the address of the chatroom, for example: http://www.121chat.com. This will work too.
Now, do the following:...
Go to http://www.guestbook.de and click at 'get your guestbook'.
Fill in the registration form. You have to answer all the questions. When you use 'Barbara' during the registration for your first name, the title of your guest book will be 'Barbara's guest book'.
At 'Homepage' you have to fill in the address of your Web page or when you don't have one fill in the address of your profile. OOO just know what... use http://www.121chat.com, much easier!!!
Now fill in your E-mail address, and make up a password (important: do not forget your password). Click now at 'I accept' and there it is, your guestbook is activated... (when you forget to fill in a required field, you will be reminded about that)
You will be automatically transported to the next page. This page contains a lot of important settings for your guestbook. These settings are very important. You need them when you want to change the look of your guestbook, for example the background or text color. So to say the style of your guestbook.
The code needed to put on your profile is included at this page too. You noticed the <a href code there?? THAT one has to be copied exactly into your profile (or type it...). And when you don't ... well, you know ... it wont work!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are now the proud owner of a guestbook!!! You will see in your profile: "View my guestbook". This is a standard phrase, included with the code. You can change it if you like or replace it by a picture. It exactly the same as with each other LINK used at your profile.
All information about your profile will be send by E-mail too, like your user-ID and password. You will need that when you want to modify your guestbook....
Click at the image for an example, it is my own guestbook (i would love it when you sign it...)
This is the code used for my guestbook:
<a href=http://two.guestbook.de/gb.cgi?gid=392486&prot=vllgsx><img src=http://home-3.worldonline.nl/~tl231984/img/guestbdabo.gif border=0 align=left></a>
Your guest book is now ready to use ... but doesn't it look boring??? That dull white background ... lets change that as soon as possible. You agree??? Dont you???
Go to: Control-center, you find the link for that, at the bottom of your guest book. Now you need your user-ID and password. Choose now: 'change appearance'. Now you can change the basic appearance of your guest book:
When you want to see the changes click at the button 'Change guestbook appearance' so save the new settings and then click at 'Guestbook' at the bottom of the page to display your guestbook (by using this link, no hits will be added to the hit list of your guestbook). By clicking at 'Control-Center' you will return to the main menu of the Control Center of your Guestbook.
For more advanced settings (adjust the Color Set manually), choose 'Change appearance (advanced)'. All settings mentioned above can be modified here, but now you will have extra possibilities to adjust all color settings.
For hexadecimal color codes click << HERE >>
When you want to use your own color settings you activate them by choosing
'Yours (from below)' at the Color Set listing (is on top of the list).
Just for the record. We get a lot of E-mail about a not functioning Control-Center. We can not explain it. Sometimes the Center will work and sometimes not. When the Center is not working just try it on another time. So please do not send us E-mail about that problem. We can not help you with that ... Sorry ...
Sorry to say, but there are still visitor who think it is funny to add harassing or nonsense messages at your guestbook. You are able to delete messages (unwanted entries) from your guestbook. To be able to do that, go to the Control-Center of your guestbook (at the bottom of your guestbook) and log in with your username and password (remember the E-mail you got, with that information?).
Click at 'Entry management (delete, mark private/public)' inside the Control-Center. Here you can mark messages to be deleted or even make them private (private: the message will not show up at your guestbook, but can be seen at the Entry Management page by you).
Green bar: mark the message to be public (visible for all visitors)
Yellow bar: mark the message to be private (only visible on delete page)
Pink bar: mark the message to be deleted
Acknowledge the marking of the messages by clicking the button 'Submit changes' at the bottom of the page.
Add your own images to your guestbook or add them to the messages at somebody's else his/her guestbook. It is just as easy as adding a image to your profile. With one exception, the "-characters are very important now. For example: <img src="dabo.mine.nu/img/dabost"> At your profile you can leave the "-characters out but when adding a image to your guestbook, these have to be present. When you want to add an image to your own guestbook, you have to add the code at the 'Greeting text'. You can access the 'Greeting text' at the Control-Center of your guestbook (choose 'Change Appearance').
When you want to add images to someone else his/her guestbook, do not forget to activate the HTML option.
To align as image to the left use the code align="left" behind the code for the image. See the example: <img src="http://dabo.mine.nu/img/dabost.gif" align="left">
More possibilities:
XXXRated has send us the tip about how to change the text color at your guestbook. You have to use a <font code for that. Just let us give an example: <font color="yellow">Type here the text you want with the modified color</font>. You can use this code for your 'Greeting Text' as well as use it for a message in another guestbook.
Another one we find out ourselves:
Using the <p code you can align images even better. For
example: <p align="center"><img src="http://dabo.mine.nu/img/dabost.gif"></p>
When you use complete code before you type the text, the image will
appear above the text. When you use it after the text, the image will appear
below the text.

Check my guestbook ... I used images and a background in my Greeting text ...
Chat rooms are becoming international meeting places for people all over the world. And wouldn't it be nice to show a visitor more about your place. For instance your local time (then they will understand why you are tired, because you are 6 hours in front of them) or your local weather. The website www.wunderground.com provides a feature to add a time/weather banner at your profile.
They have many different banners to use and for places all over the world. Just select your location and get the code you need to display the banner at your profile.
This is how to get a Time/Weather banner like for example the one above here.
Click http://english.wunderground.com to go to the website.
Use the search box or the world maps (just click at the maps) to find your location.
You will get a list of places and click at the place you live or a place nearby. A page with all weather information about the place you selected will appear.
Scroll down the page and look for the link Add this sticker to your homepage at the menu (the menu is located at the left site of the window). Click at this link to open the banner site. Now a huge selection of weather banners will be displayed.
Some examples of the banners you will find at the banner site...
Some modifications:
Delete the red marked code, and you will get the following code you can use at your profile to display the banner without link:
You will get the following code (we added the border code to this example):
When you use a very wide banner, it will not fit into your profile. You will end up with a scrollbar at the bottom of your profile. When you don't like that and you still want to use the wide banner, replace the size options of the image with width=100% (like the one below):
You will get the following code:
We never tried this and it could be possible the image would not look very well anymore. Just try it yourself and you will see.
